Billie Eilish amazed Coachella Weekend 2 attendees with Hayley Williams on Saturday evening for a rare efficiency of Paramore’s 2007 hit “Misery Company.”
Williams’ visual appearance came just after Eilish and her brother Finneas played “Your Power” from her most modern album, with the siblings duetting on acoustic guitar. There was a pause immediately after the music ended, in which anticipation loaded the air and Eilish took a seat on a stool to introduce her guest.
“Oh, glance! An empty seat. Who’s that for?” Eilish reported with a mischievous search. “Everybody, can we please welcome my close friend Hayley Williams!”
Backed by Finneas and a different guitar player, Williams and Eilish delivered an acoustic rendition of the pop-punk tune. Eilish appeared overjoyed to have Williams as a guest, letting out an thrilled yelp when she walked onstage. The two jumped and hugged as Williams addressed the group. “This is my initial Coachella, whoa,” Williams said. “Thanks for sharing this with me. This is unwell!”
Just before they broke out in song, Eilish requested: “Hayley, wanna sing one thing?” To which Williams replied: “Yes, I’m much better at singing than talking.”
“Misery Business” was completely personalized to both of those singers’ powerhouse vocals, with Williams belting the initially verse and Eilish jumping in to include a decreased harmony to the chorus. “We seem good,” Williams explained ahead of Eilish extra her signature whisper-design tone to the second verse.
“Oh my fucking god,” Eilish exclaimed following Williams exited the stage. “Absolutely what on earth could be cooler than that? I’m useless major.”
Saturday night marked a scarce performance of the song, which Williams has distanced herself from in new a long time, even inquiring for it to be taken off of Spotify’s Women in Rock playlist. Past weekend, Eilish brought out Damon Albarn of Gorillaz fame to carry out “Feel Excellent Inc” along with Posdnuos of De La Soul.
