‘Everyone’s going to be together’: Mayor Scott, business leaders and squeegee workers hold meeting to develop solutions

BALTIMORE — Mayor Brandon Scott on Thursday convened a meeting of business house owners, town leaders and squeegee workers, hoping to locate methods for the window washers.

Scott claimed squeegee employees have been an difficulty for many years, but what is new this time is that all the stakeholders are coming to the table. 

“This is about Baltimore –Baltimore failing to tackle this challenge, from a federal government standpoint, from a company standpoint, community standpoint, everybody has unsuccessful to deal with this difficulty,” he explained.

City Councilman Kristerfer Burnett, who was in the meeting, mentioned about 50 folks, such as some squeegee personnel, have been existing and attendees discussed transitioning window washers into employment and how to retain the two youthful persons and motorists safe.

Scott said stakeholders will keep a discussion with squeegee employees “about why they had been out there, what takes place when they go out there, what variables led to them staying out there.”
